Positive: Warm welcoming staff at reception and in the pub and the breakfast room. Mattress was comfortable.
Negative: Room 3 looked worn. Carpet frayed and small holes in the wall. Water stained ceiling. Looked long in the tooth. Shower floor is very slippery. It needs a shower mat to avoid a fall.
Summary: The reviews didn’t meet the reality.

Positive: We came because we had stayed in the Wansfell when we married 60 years ago. Name had changed but much the same! Staff were very friendly, we had a long chat with Stuart at breakfast as, being the only 'normal' guests we were last down for breakfast (not rushing off to work).
